Main Event: We had another great year of tree sales in 2023. We would like to thank everyone who volunteered and bought from our lot this year and wish everyone Happy Holidays!

Main Event: Merry Christmas from Pack 399! We had a wonderful evening of Christmas cheer. Three busloads of Cub Scouts and their families had a fun evening. Santa joined us for a ride through "Fantasy of Lights" we then went Christmas caroling to some of our 399 supporters, went back to Sacred Heart and had cookies and milk, and wrapped up the evening with Santa handing out gift bags to all the children who were on the “nice” list. Santa gave every Cub Scout a pinewood derby car kit.

Main Event: Pack 399 hosted its annual pancake breakfast today with another successful morning of fun and pancakes!

Main Event: Pack 399 had a great November pack outing at the Evansville Wartime Museum.

Main Event: Troop 399 hosted its annual Back to Basics trip this weekend. In honor of veterans day 399 solely operated under red lights and we attended a veterans day flag retirement ceremony with AmVets Post 84.

Main Event: Pack 399 settled in at Kentucky Lake overnight, after setting up camp in the dark after a decent rain. Boys are starting to catch fish and taking the TR out for rides in the bay.

Main Event: Venture Crew 399 participated in the 2023 Fall Festival with booth number 2 Papa Johns Pizza! It was another successful year and we thank all who volunteered their time to make it a success!

Main Event: Pack 399 had a great outing at Goebel Farms. Hayride, pumpkin patch, and everyone made it out of the corn maze!

Main Event: Pack 399 had a great turnout for our Cubscout Roundup event last night! Lots of new faces & the boys enjoyed building and racing Raingutter Regatta boats!

We know several parents/boys were unable to make it due to sporting events that were reschduled from last weeks heat wave. If you or anybody you know is still interested in getting started in scouting with 399, please shoot us a message and we'll be happy to get you all the details along with guidance on how to get signed up!

Main Event: Troop 399 hosted its annual Eagle Scout ceremony this weekend. They pinned 7 scouts this year welcoming them to the 399 Eagle Scout family. Congrats to Micah Cherry, Carter McCord, Charlie Griese, Grant McIntosh, Jack Bonham, Jordan Tooley, and Tyler Weinzapfel on this amazing achievement. We also welcomed our new Scoutmaster Matt Riordan to Troop 399 as Jim Griese hands off the torch after pulling the troop through Covid.
We also want to thank Richard McIntosh for all he has done for the troop as he also hands his torch as Unit Advancement Chair to Ryan Sermersheim.

Main Event: Pack 399 hosted its annual crossover ceremony this week. They welcomed 7 cub scouts into the Troop 399 family. Congrats to Andrew Craig, Henry Tekoppel, Benjamin Pfafflin, Preston Action, Ivan Goebel, Vincent Julian, and Simon Riordan. We also welcomed our new Cubmaster Matt Hahn to Pack 399 as Matt Riordan moves into the role of Scoutmaster for the troop.

Main Event: Troop 399 hosted its Bi-annual Current River trip this week. They canoed across 3 days and a total of 27 miles. It was a great success and everyone had a fun week full of new memories.

Main Event: Troop 399 hosted its first full summer camp in 5 years (due to Covid issues previous years). They learned skills like cooking, archery, navigation, environmental science, swimming, lifesaving, and completed the famous Mile Swim with a 100% completion rate, meaning every scout who entered the water swam 1 mile unassisted.

Main Event: Our Venture Crew traveled down to Cozumel, Mexico to go scuba diving and explore the island for the week. It was a great opportunity to explore not only the undersea life, but also explore traditions and the history of another country.

Main Event: Troop 399 Youth Leaders hosted their PLC meeting following the Fish/Flag trip. During this we talked about how the trip went and what it was like with a new location. They agreed to keep the same location next year. We also started discussions for summer camp taking place next month.

Main Event: The scouts took a trip to Kentucky Lake to learn and practice their fishing skills, as well as learn how to properly fold and retire US flags. They also got the opportunity to spend time swimming, kayaking, and boating on the lake.

Main Event: Troop 399 Youth Leaders hosted their PLC meeting following the Pioneering trip. During this we talked about how the trip went and what it was like with a new location. They agreed to keep the same location next year. We also discussed the upcoming Fishing and Flag overnight and talked about our new location for that as well. They concluded by unpacking and cleaning our gear from Pioneering.

Main Event: The Pack/Troop/Crew completed our annual pioneering overnight this weekend at the Corpus Christi scout cabin. The scouts constructed a monkey bridge and crossed a creek with it. Once the mud dried out, we had a a mostly dry weekend!

Main Event: Troop 399 Youth Leaders hosted their PLC meeting following the Hike and Bike trip. During this we talked about how the trip went which everyone agreed was very enjoyable and we added it to next year's calendar. We also discussed the upcoming Pioneering overnight and talked about what the biggest concerns would be and how we would focus on our monkey bridge. We also took a tour of our new location for pioneering at the 399 Scout Cabin.

Main Event: Troop and Crew 399 hosted their 2nd hike and bike trip this weekend. In total, they hiked 1 mile and biked 7 miles. This trip was another great success and gave the boys a trip to break the norm and just have fun, bike, and even bring back an old classic 399s variant of British Bulldog ignoring the cold that followed them.

Main Event: Pack 399 had their Blue & Gold Banquet today with over 80 people in attendance.

Thanks to Ceclia Reising and Mary Velotta, both Eagle Scout Moms, for all their planning and hard work to make the 2023 B&G Banquet a success. And to the Scout Families for all the awesome desserts themed “Reaching for the Stars!”

Main Event: Venture Crew and Phoenix Patrol went back to Snowshoe West Virginia for another successful ski trip. It was challenging but 399 adapted and overcame to make wonderful memories.

Thanks to Crew Trip Lead Dan Haller for coordinating and leading the trip, and all the bus drivers for getting us there and home safe.

Main Event: Troop 399 leaders hosted another PLC meeting following our Cold Weather Overnight. We chatted with our Golden Lantern and Rusty Bucket award winners about their patrols performances and how we'd improve next trip. Also began discussing the upcoming Hike and Bike trip.

Main Event: Troop/Crew 399 hosted its annual cold weather overnight joined by Pack 399. Special thanks to Chef Ed for the fried frog legs, deer chili, rabbit on a spit, deer hors d’oeuvres, and Chef Briggs for the smoked alligator. Also thanks to the adult leaders and Venture Crew to help make the weekend a success.

Main Event: Troop 399 leaders hosted their first PLC meeting of 2023. We planned out our trips for the year and prepared for the upcoming Cold Weather Overnight.

We had another Awesome year at the tree lot and as always want to thank all of our supporters for another great year!  It is always a joy talking with our customers and hearing the stories of those that have been coming for years and those that are first-timers.  We are so excited to be a part of your holiday celebration.

Main Event: The Cub Scouts visited the Evansville Astronomical Society telescope facility in Lynnville park. They had an awesome presentation and the kids all loved looking through the telescope. If you’ve never visited this facility, it is definitely a must-see in the tri-state area!

Main Event: Another year another back to basics. Weather decided to turn it into a Cold Weather Overnight this year!  Basic scout skills were practiced…knots, flag folding, cooking, and of course cold weather camping

Main Event: Venture Crew 399 hosted another Miller's Thrillers night shooting zombies with paintballs and exploring the haunted forest in Tennesee.

Main Events: Troop/Crew 399 hosted their annual backpacking trip to Shawnee National Forest.
Not to be outdone while they did this the Pack had their own adventures on Kentucky Lake where they had a flag retirement ceremony, watched movies, and visited Ky Lake Dam.

Main Event: Pack 399 hosted a roundup for anyone interested in joining cub scouts this year. It was a huge success. Thanks for everyone’s help to make it happen. 2022/23 Cub Scout Adventures are going to be great. We had about 25 NEW potential Cub Scouts in attendance and several more who could not attend but plan to register.

Main Event: Troop/Crew/Pack 399 hosted its annual Eagle Scout Ceremony this weekend. 13 Eagles got pinned this year!
We also hosted a cub scout crossover event where our eagles tied the scout neckerchief of our cubs as they moved into the troop. Congratulations everyone, and thanks for all the support from families and friends of our eagles and the troop for making this another awesome event.

Main Event: The troop leaders prepared for our upcoming Gulf Shores Trip! A lot of planning goes into our big trips each year and the scout leaders play a large role in that. Also discussed our 3  Eagle Scout projects being done this month, congrats to all our future eagles!

Main Event: Pack 399 hosted its first independent campout at Kentucky Lake this weekend. Great turn out. 51 members of the 399 family having a great time outdoors at Kentucky Lake. Cubmaster Matt Riordan has set a high standard for future outings. Thanks to the Pack Committee and 399 families who help make our first outing successful. They also attended Mass and then visited an Elk & Bison Farm on their way home.

Main Event: The Venture Crew hosted a wilderness survival campout using no food and only what they had on their backs to hike and camp for 2 days. It was a cold weekend, but they made it through and were rewarded with a well deserved meal afterwords.

Main Event: The leaders of the troop discussed our Pioneering Overnight and how the Pack did on its first trip with the troop. Also discussed the upcoming Ax throwing and Military Museum Day.

Main Event: 399 hosted its annual Pioneering overnight, this time alongside pack 399 as they took their first trip alongside the troop. The snow led to a great learning experience.

Main Event: The Pack hosted its 2022 Blue & Gold Banquet leading to a fun afternoon for the Cubs.  Special thanks to Cecelia Reising for her dedication to Scouting and leadership to make the B&G a success!

Main Event: Venture Crew 399 alongside the older scouts in the Troop ventured to Snowshoe, West Virginia to go ski this weekend. Lots of fun and no injuries.

Main Event: Discussed Cold Weather overnight and ways to improve for next year. Also discussed trips for the year and any variations or new things we wanted to try this year.

Main Event: Great Cold Weather Overnight this weekend. Our camping and cooking skills are a little rusty, but we will fix that. A great group of young men became a little stronger and built some confidence this weekend.

The smoked alligator and frog legs were a big hit.
